Tim Fosker

Picture
Tim began his musical career with the Royal Welch Fusiliers Band as principal flautist, after studying for 2 years with Alan Melly in Dorset.  After travelling with the Royal Welch Fusiliers Band to Berlin, where they were based from 1989-1992, he returned to England in 1991 for a year to study with Graham Mayger (flute), Paul Harvey (saxophone) and Sarah Duller (harp) at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall.  In 1993, Tim became principal flautist for the newly formed Prince of Wales's Divisional Band (Lucknow), with which he travelled extensively.
In 1996, Tim left the Army to pursue a teaching and performing career and is now a freelance flautist, saxophonist and teacher in the Wiltshire area.  As well as solo work, he plays flute and piccolo for the North Wilts Orchestra and regularly plays for shows, opera and choral societies in the county.  Tim also plays in his own professional ensembles - Duettino Flute Duo and The Original Sax Quartet.
As well as performing, Tim teaches at Sheldon School and Hardenhuish School, both in Chippenham, where he has established some very successful ensembles (2 flute ensembles and a sax ensemble), winning awards in the Devizes Eisteddfod and the Mid-Somerset Festival.  Tim is an ISM registered teacher of flute and saxophone.

Terri Fosker

Picture
Terri took up the flute at the age of 10, studying with Lamond Clelland and Barbara Myers before continuing advanced studies with international flautist Susan Milan.  Since 1995, Terri has worked as a freelance musician, coaching students in flute, saxophone and music theory.  After working as a tutor for a summer music school for several years, she also developed and presented her own series of music workshops designed to inspire pre-school children.  She is also an experienced music copyist and has worked for many composers and professional musicians, laying out their music to publishing standard using Sibelius software.
Terri is principal flautist for Swindon Symphony Orchestra, with which she has also performed as a soloist.  As well as solo, duo and chamber work, she also plays regularly for shows, opera and choral societies where she plays flute, piccolo, saxophone and clarinet.  Terri also plays in her own professional ensembles - Duettino Flute Duo and The Original Sax Quartet.
Terri has been privileged to perform some new works for solo flute and piano - "Le Roi Mysterieux" by Nigel Draycott and "Summer Music" by John Marsh.  As well as performing, Terri teaches flute at Dauntsey's School and Stonar School.  She is an ISM registered teacher of flute.

Duettino Flute Duo

We formed our flute duo in 1995, and since then have played together at many different events, including concerts, weddings and other functions, including a lunchtime recital at The Lord Mayor's Chapel in Bristol.  In December 2010, Terri performed a previously undiscovered piece, for solo flute and piano by the late composer Nigel Draycott, which led to our duo being asked to be part of a project to record more of the composer's works, and in March 2011, we spent a day in a recording session at Bristol University Music Department.

The Original Sax Quartet

The Original Sax Quartet is our professional sax quartet and we pride ourselves in our versatility to suit both formal and informal occasions.  Performances to date include recitals,  festivals,  weddings and corporate functions.  Please visit our website www.originalsax.co.uk where you can find out more and hear us play.

Other Projects

We have always been actively involved in music and are members of the Incorporated Society of Musicians  and The British Flute Society.  We have served on the committees of Marden House Concerts as woodwind advisors, helped to set up the first Chippenham Arts Festival and, in 1999, we set up and directed 2 amateur ensembles - Fantasia Flute Ensemble, and Saxophonics, both of which were formed to give local musicians an opportunity to get together and perform.  The groups were very successful, giving regular performances and even embarking on a tour of La Fleche in France.
We are available for shows, concerts, recitals, tuition and educational workshops.  If you are interested in any aspect of the work we do, please contact us.
